Belt
A caving belt is almost key safety equipment: it lets others clip you in on steep ground and lets you carry small kit safely. Strength and reliability matter.
What to look for
Avoid plastic-buckle “gear” belts. Look for 40-45 mm seat-belt webbing with a solid metal buckle (double-back or quick-release) rated for caving. Brands like Warmbac and AV make purpose-built caving belts.
Typical uses: fall prevention on steep slopes and carrying small tacklebags
What to get first
You should already have Wellies, helmet + light, undersuit and oversuit
