Oversuit

This is a protective outer layer that protects you from abrasion. It's not usually waterproof or intended to be warm.

What to look for

You're looking for a cordura oversuit that fits you really well.
A fitting guide is linked below.
There are various different brands - some new, some established, some historic.
For you right now, the brands are largely irrelevant - the questions is whether it fits you
A caving suit that doesn't fit you is worse than useless - you will break poorly fitted oversuits much faster - as well as feeling restricted in movement.
Never get an oversuit that's too small for you.
Right now, probably avoid getting a PVC oversuit.

Buying Guide

  • Price (New): £££
  • Price (Used): ££
  • Buy online? This is not recommended at all. It's strongly recommended to try oversuits on before wearing them.

Buying Second Hand

Yes... but as above, you probably want to try it on first for sizing fit.
There are no safety implications of buying second hand and you can save some money - however larger sizes rarely come up.

Where you can buy it

All caving shops, eBay and Caving Gear Exchange UK. Sellers you can visit, try on the kit and get fitting advice are recommended.
