Make sure our host caving club or bunkhouse is left spotless when we depart. You safeguard Caving Crew’s reputation with host clubs by leading, organizing, and overseeing our clear-up on departure day.

– **You are an organizer, not a lone cleaner**: Your job is to rally the troops and allocate tasks across the group, not clean the whole building yourself.
– **Assign zones**: Split jobs between members on Sunday morning (kitchen & fridges, dining area, bunkrooms, drying room, rubbish disposal).
– **Check hut rules**: Every hut has specific departure rules (e.g. fridge doors propped open, heating controls reset, bins taken out). Check the host club’s noticeboard.
– **Final walkthrough**: Walk through the hut with the Meet Leader before locking up and returning keys to the key safe.

– **Kitchen & Food**: Wash, dry, and stow all dishes, mugs, and pans. Wipe counters and hobs. Clear all Caving Crew food from fridges, wipe shelves, and leave fridge doors propped open if required.
– **Dining & Common Rooms**: Wipe down tables, sweep floors, and return furniture to where we found it.
– **Bunkrooms**: Straighten mattresses and pillows, sweep floors, check for left-behind chargers and socks, and close windows.
– **Drying Room & Tackle Wash**: Clear mud and debris from sinks, empty dehumidifiers as instructed, and check no club tackle is left behind.
– **Waste Disposal**: Bag up all rubbish and recycling. Take to external bins, or pack into cars if the hut requires taking rubbish home. Put fresh bin liners into internal bins.
– **Handover**: Set heating and lights as requested, lock external doors, and return keys.
