What the Trip Is Like
Wowfactor
Estimated Duration: 3.75 hours
Note: This is a vague estimate and probably isn't a good reflection of how long the team were actually underground on this occasion.
A wonderful non-SRT trip providing access to the far reaches of the Dale Barn Cave system, featuring the magnificent Expressway passage with some of the finest formations in the Yorkshire Dales. The cave is famous for its delicate stalactites, including the 'Streaky Bacon' ribbons. A duck near the entrance may need bailing, and the trip includes a traverse and climb to reach the downstream sump in Rushton's Chamber.
